Nightmares to come?

Work has been quite busy this week. I've been helping parse out databases the past three days. It's busy work, but time consuming. I don't know how many hours I've put into it this week, but I've had to take it home the past three nights. Not a big deal because it needs to get done... I'm just afraid I'm going to have Excel nightmares. It reminds me of playing Tetris of a young age, closing me eyes, and seeing the tiles drop on the inside of my eyelids.

I worked on 160 databases tonight and close to the equivalent the last couple of nights. I think it's coming to a close. We have a new database guru in the office that will hopefully be able to help automate some of this handwork. We shall see.

I would like to add that I am very thankful to have not been stuck in database land for the last year or so. Thankfully, my knowledge has been expanding in other areas. I now have a better understanding of what my coworkers have been going through. Gotta love them for hanging in there!

AAAAARGH!!!!!!!!

Stupid credit card fraud!!! Someone decides to make a fake card with my number and charge $600.90 and Walgreens. They were denied and my card got canceled.

Now I have to wait a week before my new card comes in the mail, BUT the Sugarland presale starts Wednesday!!!

STINKY CHEESE!

Feeding Time

Thought I'd share what it's like around the house during feeding time. Jinkies is loud, but not overly energetic like Sparky.

Probably need a nap today.

Not sure how most people do it with their cell phones, buy mine is on all night. It's basically my home phone, and you never now when something might be urgent. On the rare occasion I might get woken up by a wrong number, but on days like today... you wake up with the biggest smile on your face, even if it is before the sun rises.

I hope it's okay that I'm posting this... I just gotta share the joy!
I also hope I didn't just ruin the Iadipaolo's chance to get a big pay day from People magazine for one of Santi's first photos.

Happy First Day to Santi!

Taraxacum

So, I was doing a google search for dandelion, so I could find a picture to post with this entry. My heavy thumbs clicked on the tracking pad and took me to the Wikipedia page for Taraxacum. That's the big fancy name for dandelion. And apparently they are entirely edible.

I just new that their yellow color stands out in the yard, and the more you have, the less it looks like you care about your yard. You can make their "heads pop off". It's fun to pick them and blow the parachute ball (white fluffy part) all over the place like bubbles. Oh, and, if you rub the flower on your skin, that patch turns yellow and kids may tease you that you got peed on.

Probably want to know why I'm writing about dandelions. Well, after having a lawn and yard conversation with Tom and Jim over the weekend... I decided to heed some of their advise. I plucked as many dandelions I could find in the front yard this evening and followed up each hole with a squirt of weed (not grass) killer. They I spread some grass seed around the yard.

We'll see what happens and if it is any help to get more grass in my yard. I still have my fair share of clover, crab crass, and plantain weeds.

I find this interesting...

So, my Netflix started up again the other day. Now I can watch the DVD's that come to mailbox, I can stream movies on my laptop, and I can stream movies through my Wii and watch on the bigger TV screen.

I just caught the flick, All About Steve, the other day. I hadn't heard anything about it and read that it stars Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper. Just hearing the names, I had to rent it. It was the most quirky character I've ever seen her play and I found it pretty funny.

I just saw an article online about Sandra possibly returning her Razzi Award she won for her role in All About Steve. Glad I didn't know what role she won the Razzi for before I rented it.

Let's hope that when I finally watch The Blindside that I don't have the opposite reaction of an Oscar winning performance.

New Scent

SPARKY'S ODE TO FRESH CUT GRASS

So, I mowed the lawn today for the first time this spring. I fully expected Sparky to cower in a corner of the yard across from me. With me almost chasing him around the yard as I mow.

I was slightly wrong. He followed me around the yard as I went and rolled, and rolled, and rolled, and rolled... okay, he rolled so many times that I couldn't even count. I tried to stop him the first time, and then I quickly gave up.

He was quite green by the time I got done. I tried to capture the stained green fur that ran from chin, down his neck onto his shoulders. Oh my!

Spring Cleaning

After the mowing, Sparky needed a little spring cleaning.

Pocket Texting

I had pocket dialed people many times, but I had yet to pocket text anyone. Verizon sent me a text today that said my text usage was high this month and I may want to consider upgrading my plan. Huh?

I logged into my account tonight and saw 26 texts to the same number within about 5 minutes. I don't think I could text that fast if my life depended on it, but apparently my pocket can.

I called a bookstore last week and before my phone's keylock could activate, I shoved the phone in my pocket and the texting began. Tonight I called Verizon to see if the charges could be removed and instead they talked me into signing up for a texting plan.

For an additional $5 a month, I now have 250 texts at my disposal. Yet another step into the 21st century for me.

Class and Hole Diggin'

Today's dog class went fairly well. Mom brought her camera and took a short video. I haven't figured out how to rotate it, so you may need to lay down to view it rightside up.

This afternoon I went out to Bartonville to get some more mulch and have Dad help cut a landscaping block for me. I gathered up 6 5-gallon buckets full of mulch. My arms are quite tired right now. I suppose I should have requested Grandpa to drive the wagon around for me to transport them the easy way. Well, at least I'll sleep well tonight.

I wasn't aware of the projects Dad would be working on when I came over. He was working on the base for two different projects. I was there for step one, hole digging. Dad let me try it out and I got to make 2 of holes this afternoon. I'll post the final outcome in the coming weeks.

A Good Friday ;)

Most people I know had the day off today, but i was fortunate enough to get out of work at 3pm. I'm pretty sure my coworkers were happy to get away from me. I was hyper chatterbox most of the day. I wonder if that's what happens when I wear pink. It was only us gals at work today, so we all wore pink. I wore the Nelson Perez Chiefs jersey Tom gave me for Christmas.

Once I got home, I relocated the bunnies and put a wire fence around them. My hopes of keeping Sparky away from them didn't last long. As I was working on the new flowerbed, he figured out what was going on. Let's just say that I had to use the shovel and I don't have to worry about the bunnies anymore. :-(

I was wrapping up around 5pm when Tom called to invite me to dinner with him and the Iadipaolo's. After the fish fry, everyone stopped by my house to visit/meet Sparky. After some barking and some playing fetch, everyone was able to pet Sparky. But as usual, he had ants in his pants. Definitely some fun times and very glad that they were all able to stop by!

Here's the Sparkster from the other day.

My best guess.

I believe this is a bunny in my back yard. It wasn't much bigger than a mouse. He had a little buddy about a foot way. Their eyes weren't even open yet. Not quite sure where they wandered from at such a young age.

I'm really hoping that Sparky doesn't decide to bother them... that's one of the last things I want to find on my doorstep. I'll definitely have to watch my step in the backyard... so glad I didn't step on one.
