I am quite the blogging slacker lately. My mind just hasn't been there... I've lost the thoughts that trigger me to take a photo with my phone camera. I guess you'll have that.
Anyway, I had quite the busy weekend. I helped the parents with some landscaping at the front of the house. I totally could have taken a photo of how they finished it up when I stopped over there today, but it never even dawned on me. The "rock garden" is gone! It was a much needed facelift.
Saturday was a play day with practice and then a Chiefs game in the evening.... I guess that kind of continued into today because I went to this afternoon's game too. Probably why I've been doing chores ever since I finished dinner. All play and all fun lead to a very cluttered and messy house. I think I know what I'll be doing after work tomorrow... finding my kitchen table!

This Evening
This evening was quite nice. I got home, fixed dinner and then went for a walk outside. While I was looping around the stadium, there was a guy who was walking his dog. The dog was off his leash and came bounding for me. It was the sweetest and dog and so nice to get to pet him. It made me smile. I needed that.
I have to work on getting a few photos off my phone from this weekend, but as most everyone probably knows, the Cubs game got canceled on Sunday. Good news, makeup game will be July 12th... yee-ha!

B-U-S-Y
That's a simple summary of my week... Busy! For those who may not know, work finally took a turn for the better and I have been challenged in a very chaotic and oddly fun way. Wanna know more, then give me a ring.
Anyway, we had our first softball practice yesterday. I'm guessing it was just in time for our first rainout tomorrow. The forecast doesn't look too promising for our first time. I guess you'll have that in April.
Other than that, I've gone to two Chiefs games and will be watching my third Cubs game this evening. I am proud to say that I have my W flag hanging in the office window for all to see. Let's hope I don't have to take it down anytime soon.
Let's hear it for a slightly less busy week where I can spend at least one evening at home during the week. Catching up on all household items over the weekend isn't the most fun. But then again, when you're done... it feels sooooo good!
Have a great week everyone!
Go Cubbies!

Just a bit of work
So I went shopping with Mom on Saturday morning. Only one fabric store and she found prints for the new bedspread and curtains. I wish I had taken a picture of the samples to share. It'll be a really nice change for their bedroom.
After the mini shopping extravaganza (wow, that word has a bunch of a's)... anyway, I headed over the parents' house to help Dad and Grandpa with the backyard drainage project. I wish I had gotten there earlier to help did a few more holes, but I guess one is better than none. Tom gets to help with the fun part later this week when they rent the Ditch Witch to bury the rest of the drainage pipe.
I did get to take part in the first burn barrel of the season. Only singed off hairs from one arm and only had to get the hose out once. Maybe it was a bit to windy or maybe I shouldn't have tried to build a tee-pee ontop of the barrel. Oh, I almost forgot to mentioned that I disposed of a dead mouse into the fire... and I threw a few fire crackers into the barrel too.
Today wasn't nearly as fun, but I'm getting to watch and listen to some great performances on the ACM awards. Tomorrow should be good even though I have to work... it'll be the Cubs first official game of the year! Go Cubbies!

Oh Goodness.
A man and his baggage cart... oh my!
I have been promised a ride around the yard once it can safely hook on to the tractor.
