Time has just been flying lately. That's good because Spring is here, but not so good because I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I should have these past couple of weeks.
Right now I'm really looking forward to our first softball game of the season. We've had a few practices already and our first game is on the 12th. I'm hoping we'll win a few more games this year by going back to the team name, 3 up 3 down.
I've recently been convinced by my former coworker, Naomi, to sign up for Building Steam. She claims there are categories for walkers, walk to run, and runners for 10 weeks of training for the Steamboat Classic. Not sure I'll necessarily be ready to compete in the Steamboat, but it will give me a good start for the Warrior Dash (which Tom convinced me to sign up for) later this year.
That's what's on my mind at the moment.
Oh, a side note... I'm watching Ellen from earlier today and recording keeps stalling out and the sound reminds me of the old Atari games' buzzer noises.

Sugarland's photo
Sugarland on WhoSay
Had another wonderful night with Little Big Town and Sugarland. I actually didn't take my camera with me this time. I took in the whole show through my own two eyes, no little glowy screens. So glad I did that and can't wait to go again later this year. I hope Aunt Cheryl had as much fun as I did. Now I just have to try to catch some Z's.
Here's our view from the show from Cheryl's camera phone. Doesn't really get much better than 3rd row off the corner of the stage. Especially when Kristian walks by to hand out a guitar. Oh, and getting to hear Sugarland cover CeeLo Forget You, Brittany Spears, Destiny's Child, and Madonna was sweet. LBT joined them for Just Like a Prayer and they started their own set with Bruno Mars' song, Grenade. Wish I had recordings of all those!

Baseball is on the Brain
I'm really waiting for this weather to warm up. Baseball and softball just seem to keep creeping up in my mind. First I bought Cubs/Red Sox tickets, then there was the fantasy baseball draft, watched a few Cubs spring training games, searched for some minor league players to draft, and caught a couple innings of the Ken Burns Baseball documentary.
I did spice it up a bit this weekend by volunteering at the March Madness Experience during the IHSA tournament. Watching the kids play "Night Ball" was quite a bit of fun. Hope Kristin and I can do it again next year.

Lazy Sunday?
I wish, but I have to admit that it feels good to have gotten quite a bit done this weekend. Last night I got my taxes filed for federal and state. I'm lucky and get a little money back from both. That'll help offset my concert and baseball addictions.
Today was house organization day. I got a few things hung up on the walls. I tend to put that off because of the crazy hard plaster that I have to drill through. I even hung an empty frame on the wall. I know what I want in it, but haven't had the time to create it yet.
After much cleaning and a some essential grocery shopping, I relaxed when Tom came over to watch the Cubs spring training game. It was a fun game and great to hang with my brother.
Hope all have a great week!

Today was draft day in the Sweet Swings of Summer fantasy baseball league. For the last couple of years, I haven't been able to find a magazine that has photos of all the players. Once again, I get home and have to pull together my team. I'd like to introduce you to the 2011 Mai Guys.
