Why shelters make you take your dog to the vet.

I couldn't believe my ears tonight when the vet told me that Pickles is probably between 7-9 years old, has a tooth that needs to be extracted, and has several mammary masses. I'm still trying to digest it all, but I ultimately know that I will not be able to take care of her, so I will have to call The A.R.K. and return her. It just tears me up inside.

There is another healthy, younger orphan dog out there waiting to be adopted that needs your love and will be able to go on walks with you for years to come. Hang in there! Momma
